Everything I knew as a human, a woman, an artist, a wife, a mother, a nurse….. ALL changed in the span of 8 months. In this short time span I lost my two oldest sons to suicide and addiction. My oldest son, Johnathon Scott Howard, took his life on July 31, 2021, he had struggled with his mental health for the last several years. It’s a terrible feeling to wake up at 0400 in the morning, look at the caller ID, and immediately know what happened: Your oldest son, the one who made you a mom, who taught you as you taught him, had taken his life.
Then, on March 18, 2022 at 2237 your dogs start going crazy and you hear a knock at the door….again, you know that something terrible has happened. They tell you that your second oldest son, Jace Colton Howard has overdosed and died. Your breath is forced from your body, you feel like vomiting and screaming and running, all at the same time…..and you know, in that instant, that you have to make a conscious decision to get out of bed every day, to take one step forward every day, or it will kill you.
That decision, at that moment, on March 18, 2022 is how Junctions & Journeys, Inc. came into existence.
Together we can and will make a difference.
Peace and Love!!!
